La Tavernetta di Diego si trova a Saretto (1540 m, comune di Acceglio), caratteristica borgata posta a valle delle sorgenti del Maira, in posizione strategica per accedere ai principali trekking dell’alta valle. La borgata di Chiappera dista meno di 2 km e, proseguendo, in pochi minuti si giunge ai piedi del mitico Gruppo Castello-Provenzale e delle maestose cascate di Stroppia.
I dintorni di Saretto offrono molte possibilità per gli sportivi:
- Alcuni dei trekking più belli della valle (Sentiero Frassati con i laghi Visaisa, Apzoi, Munie e Reculaye; sentiero Dino Icardi verso il lago dei Nove Colori; le 5 tappe del Sentiero semi-alpinistico Roberto Cavallero; il giro dello Chambeyron; i sentieri GTA e i Percorsi Occitani).
- passeggiate sui facili sentieri che collegano Saretto alle borgate vicine, o quelli che si inoltrano in pineta e che costeggiano il grande lago artificiale.
- L’arrampicata sul gruppo Castello-Provenzale e il bouldering sui massi circostanti.
- I percorsi per mountain bike verso i colli che collegano la Valle Maira con la Francia e con la Valle Varaita.

La Tavernetta di Diego (Diego’s Tavern) is located in Saretto (at an altitude of 1540m, in Acceglio), a typical village below the Maria Stream, well positioned for accessing the main hiking tracks of the upper valley. The village Chiappera is less than 2km away and the tavern is also few minutes on foot from the impressive Castello-Provenzale Rocks and the majestic waterfalls of Stroppia.
The area around Saretto has much to offer:
Some of the most beautiful walking tracks of the valley (the Frassati track that pass the Visaisa and Apzoi lakes; the Dino lcardi track in the direction of the Lake of Nine Colours; the 5 sections of the semi-alpine track Roberto Cavallero; the Chambeyron tour; the GTA paths and Occitan tracks).
Easy Walks along the tracks that connect Saretto with the nearby villages, or other tracks that wind through pine forests along the large artificial lake.
Climbing on the Castello-Provenzale rocks and bouldering on surrounding rocks
The mountain bike trails towards the peaks that connect the Maira Valley with the Varaita Valley and France.
